Hardware and Software Requirements

All students are required to own a personal computer for the duration of enrollment in the School of Information.

On-Campus Students:

  • Laptop or notebook computer
  • Intel i5 or equivalent processor
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 120 GB Hard Drive (SSD preferred)
  • 802.11 g/n/ac Wireless Adapter
  • Microphone (Headset or earbuds with attached microphone)
  • Webcam
  • USB 3.0 Port

Recommended for but not required: Headset w/attached microphone. Note: An attached microphone prevents feedback and any echo effect.

Distance Students:

  • Desktop or Notebook Computer
  • Intel i5 or equivalent processor
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 120 GB Hard Drive (SSD Preferred)
  • Broadband connection to the Internet (40Mbps recommended)
  • 802.11 b/n/ac Wireless Adapter
  • Microphone (Headset or earbuds with attached microphone)
  • Webcam
  • USB 3.0 Port
