A Leader in the Information Field

Founded in 1947, the School of Information has been preparing professionals to make vital connections between people and information ever since. We are proud that our programs are consistently top-ranked in the nation and have been for many years. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked the Master of Science in Information #12 for library and information studies programs, #1 in school library media, and #7 in children and youth.

The FSU School of Information offers two majors within the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT); two master’s degree programs available entirely online: an ALA-accredited Master of Science/Master of Arts in Information (MSI/MAI) and a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT); Specialist in Information and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Information. In addition, graduate-level certificate programs are offered in Information Architecture, Leadership and Management, Reference Services, School Librarian Leadership, Health Information Technology and Youth Services.
