Three alumnus of the School of Information doctoral program are finding continued success at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia.
Dr. Linda Most has been named Department Head for Library and Information Studies in Valdosta State University’s Dewar College of Education and Human Services effective July 1, 2015, after serving as interim in the position for the past year.
Dr. Most joined the VSU MLIS faculty in 2009 after receiving her Ph.D. in Library and Information Studies from the Florida State University and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013 and granted tenure in 2014. Her research interests include public libraries in society and the teaching of library and information studies in the online environment. She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the South Georgia Regional Library System in Valdosta, Georgia, and was recently appointed by the Governor of the State of Georgia to the Georgia State Board for the Certification of Librarians.
Dr. Colette Drouillard has been promoted to Associate Professor and granted tenure effective Fall 2015.
Dr. Drouillard received her Ph.D. in Library and Information Studies from the Florida State University and joined the VSU LIS Department in 2010. She teaches courses focused on library services for children and young adults as well as literature for children and young adults. Her areas of research and her publications primarily focus on reading motivation and the reading interests of young readers.
Dr. Changwoo Yang was granted tenure effective Fall 2015 after receiving early promotion to Associate Professor in Fall 2014.
Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. in Library and Information Studies from the Florida State University in 2009 and joined the VSI LIS department in 2010. His primary research interest resides in exploring how culture and cognition play a role in user-centered information system design, and his current research explores the search strategies, tactics, and errors of MLIS students enrolled in a semester long database searching class. Dr. Yang teaches in the area of information technologies for libraries and research methodologies.
